And Others Privacy Policy

Version 1.0. Effective 15 September 2026.

This UK GDPR-focused policy must be checked against the final live payment, analytics, advertising, email and hosting services before commercial launch.

1. Who we are

And Others operates a UK online marketplace providing independent sellers with online shops and helping visitors discover products and services.

2. Information we collect

We may collect names, email addresses, telephone numbers, delivery or business addresses, account and security information, shop details, listings, enquiries, orders, payment references, IP and device information, login and audit information, reports and support messages.

3. Payments

Payment processing may be handled by providers such as Stripe or PayPal. And Others should not store full card numbers. We may retain transaction identifiers, status and amounts for accounting, support, fraud prevention and disputes.

4. Why we use information

We use information to create and secure accounts, provide marketplace functions, administer subscriptions, support users, prevent fraud and abuse, moderate content, meet legal obligations, improve the service and communicate about accounts and transactions.

5. Lawful bases

Lawful bases may include contract, legal obligation, legitimate interests and consent where consent is required.

6. Sellers and customers

When a customer buys from or contacts a seller, relevant information may be supplied to that seller for fulfilment or response. Sellers are independent businesses with their own privacy responsibilities.

7. Sharing

We may share necessary information with hosting, payment, email, security, analytics, advertising, delivery and technical providers, professional advisers, relevant sellers and authorities where legally required. We do not sell personal information to advertisers.

8. International transfers

Where providers process information outside the UK, appropriate safeguards must be used where required.

9. Cookies

Essential cookies may support login, security, baskets and preferences. Optional analytics, personalisation or advertising technologies should follow applicable consent requirements.

10. Retention

Information is retained only as long as reasonably necessary, including for legal, accounting, tax, security, fraud-prevention and dispute requirements.

11. Security

Measures include password hashing, secure sessions, access controls, audit records and optional two-step verification. No online service can guarantee absolute security.

12. Your rights

Depending on circumstances, UK data-protection rights can include access, correction, erasure, restriction, objection, portability and rights relating to consent. Identity may need to be verified.

13. Complaints

Contact And Others first so a privacy concern can be investigated. You may also have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office.

14. Children

And Others is not designed for children to operate seller accounts independently.

15. Promotion tools

When sellers use Promote Your Shop features, we may process shop identifiers, generated links, selected promotional material and basic usage or referral information needed to provide, secure and improve those tools. If a seller chooses to post material to Google, social networks or other third-party services, that third party processes information under its own privacy terms. And Others does not automatically publish to third-party accounts unless a separate authorised connection is provided.

15A. Contact forms and Formspree

The main And Others contact page uses Formspree to process general enquiries and deliver them to hello@andothers.co.uk. Individual sellers may separately connect their own Formspree endpoint to their shop. Messages submitted through a seller’s contact page are sent through that seller’s Formspree configuration and are not received by And Others. Formspree processes information under its own terms and privacy arrangements. Users should avoid including unnecessary sensitive information in contact forms.

15B. Shop version history

To provide Rewind and recovery features, And Others may temporarily retain copies of recent shop settings, catalogue information and related image references. These safety copies are access-controlled and are retained for a limited period. Rewind does not alter transaction, payment, report or customer-order records.

16. Changes

Material revisions will be identified by a new version and effective date.

17. Contact

Privacy questions and rights requests can be submitted through the And Others Help Centre. The final launch version must identify the legal operator/data controller and formal contact details.
